Meet the Owner of Coombs Flowers: Jim Coombs

Coombs Flowers offers only the finest floral arrangements and gifts, backed by friendly and prompt services. This business has proudly been serving Morgantown since 1952 when Jim’s parents first opened up the business on Canyon Road. 

The business was next moved to downtown in 1954 and then moved to its current location on High Street in 1960 where it still stands today. Jim says Coombs Flowers is a great fit for downtown because it brings in something different. Anyone can stop by and get a flower for their friends, family, or significant others.

Jim became interested in flowers and the floral industry because he grew up in the shop with his parents running it. He one day proudly took over the family-owned business.

His favorite part about owning Coombs Flowers is that every day is different. 

“When we come in, we don’t have a clue about what we’re going to be doing or what we’re going to be working with. It’s totally new every time,” Jim says.

What makes Coombs Flowers unique? Well, the flowers, arrangements, and services they offer are the best of the best. They value their customers and will do everything to meet or even exceed expectations. They will see your vision and recreate it, paying attention to every detail.

Want to hear a fun fact? Back in 1985, Coombs Flowers was one of 50 florists asked to prepare flowers for President Ronald Regan’s second inauguration. The flowers used in the auguration had to be red and white and grown in the U.S.
