The Great Race

FreePresented in cooperation with Visit Mountaineer Country and Main Street Morgantown, we are excited to welcome The Great Race to the streets of downtown Morgantown on Monday, June 24, 2024, from noon to 3:00 p.m.
The Great Race, the world’s premiere old car rally, will bring over 120 of the world’s finest antique automobiles to town. This event is oriented towards the whole family as kids will be able to climb in and out of some of the parked vehicles.
-The Dream Machine’s Car Club, a local car enthusiasts’ group, will also have around 60 vintage automobiles on display.
-The Brant Motorsports Indy car will also be on display. This car was the first car to race in the Indianapolis 500 owned and operated by a race team from WV in 1999. The car was driven by Raul Boesel. They started 33rd and finished a very respectable 12th.
-The Boy Scout Council will also be hosting a pine box derby competition, along one of the adjacent streets. All kids are welcome to participate!
-A variety of vintage clothing vendors offering retro finds will be available for purchase.
-Rollie Pollie Egg Roll Factory and Jazzy’s Shaved Ice will be available for purchase, but we also encourage the community to stop by some of the open restaurants downtown as well.
