Downtown Audio Walking Tour
Downtown Morgantown is rich with history from the turn-of-the-century.
Now anyone can get a professional tour of downtown Morgantown, its
historic architecture and the events that shaped the formation of
Morgantown. Listen to a professional tour guide describe interesting
facts and experiences at over 50 historic stops. Visit these sites at
your own pace with a state-of-the-art MP3 player.
You receive, and keep, a 32-page color guidebook complete with map
showing the stop locations and information mainly about the
architecture of the buildings. But the audio tour goes far beyond the
guidebook. A part of the information that is highlighted includes
African American history of downtown Morgantown, the development of the
Met Theatre over the years, the formation of several downtown churches,
and highlights the people of the time, like Waitman T. Willey - one of
our most famous citizens.
