Former railroad lines converted to trails offer tremendous opportunities for recreation. These trails are generally flat in nature and vary from paved surfaces to crushed limestone. The trail head is located in Main Street Morgantown's Wharf District, at the Train Depot in the Hazel Ruby McQuain Riverfront Park.

Caperton Trail
Offers 8 miles of paved surface perfect for rollerblading, strolling and biking. Located within the Morgantown City Limits, this trail runs through Hazel Ruby McQuain Riverfront Park, which also features a beautiful amphitheater. This trail was named in honor of former Governor, Gaston Caperton.

Decker's Creek Trail
This trail offers an 1,800 ft. incline over 18 miles. It begins at Hazel Ruby McQuain Riverfront park and parallels Decker's Creek into Reedsville.
