WINTER CARNIVAL!

Posted by Emily on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 11:27 am

Just a few weeks away from the First Annual Winter Carnival on Saturday, February 23! We have been busy planning some great events for this exciting day. Over 31 glittering ice sculptures will be on display on the sidewalks of downtown Morgantown. In Courthouse Square, two large ice sculptures will be displayed, along with the highlight of the Carnival--a gigantic ice throne made of 11 blocks of ice! Have your picture taken on the throne by Genesis Studios!

Start the day off right with the delicious Kick-Off Pancake Breakfast at Wesley United Methodist Church. To keep warm, head down to the campfire where National Society of Collegiate Scholars will be selling hotdogs and s'mores to roast. For food that will warm you heart and soul, check out Empty Bowls soup canteen. This organization will be selling soup and handmade bowls to help feed the hungry in Monongalia County.

No matter what the weather is like, we guarentee snow! BoParc will supply us with a huge mound of the white stuff right in the middle of closed-for-traffic High Street. To keep the snow flying, we are offering five ski pacakages to Snowshoe, Canaan Valley and Wisp.

Come on down to Downtown Morgantown and enjoy the festivities on February 23!
